  • The United States is the lead exporter to Canada despite strong competition from France, Italy, and Australia. Conclusions were based on both value and volume which are showing strong signs of growth for each in the first quarter for the United States. The value of exports to Canada has increased 369% in the last 15 years, and volume exported has almost doubled in the last 10 years.
  • Records show sparkling wine imports are on the rise in both value (+16.4%) and volume (+19.4%) with Spain being the fastest growing exporter in the first quarter. Spanish wine imports have increased in value (+64.2%) and volume (+60.3%) of sparkling wine to Canada.
  • As bulk wine prices drop, the United States and Spain enjoy a significant increase in volume exported by (+78.9%) and (+53.6%), respectively, while Chile and France struggle to stay in the top 5 exporters to Canada in the first quarter.
