In times of BREXIT and pandemic, UK moves from sparkling to bulk wine imports
In August 2020, as in the previous two months, UK is importing much more wine at considerably lower average prices. This evolution has much to do with lower imports of expensive sparkling wine, lower average prices for bottled wines and increasing purchase of cheaper bulk wine. France, together with Germany, shows the most negative performance, losing 5 percentage points of market share since February, while New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Chile and the USA increased sales to the market in this period.
